And then you may have hiked upriver to Falls Pool or downriver to Dry Fly. ![]() I’m referring to Spruce Pool or the maybe the Diamond Rock. Many of you fishers will nowadays maybe have visited and angled the higher pools on Castors River and got there with just a short 10- or 15-minute walk. Our affair lasted many seasons, until logging roads, easy access, and crowded pools tarnished her beauty. Castors was perfect and I fell for her head over heels.Ĭastors River is truly a beautiful place. I peered into the deep abyss of the rabbit hole. I wanted to be a man chasing silver with passion and commitment. Now, I wanted to maybe someday be world-class. Well, maybe closer to midlife, but at the beginning of when I became totally serious about the pursuit, committed to attaining higher skill and knowledge.īefore, I was just a boy trying to catch a fish. I met Castors River on the Northern Peninsula early in my salmon fishing life. I guess that also applies to salmon rivers. They say there’s no love like your first love. ![]()
